  <title>Teen Titans Japanese lyrics - Romanization and Translation</title>

  <description>So, I&apos;ve been trying to track down a good copy of the Japanese Teen Titans theme to translate, since I know there&apos;s no translations out there (unless google has lied to me.)  However, the few sites I could find that weren&apos;t overridden with ads (COUGHMOSTCRAPPYLYRICSSITESCOUGH) had very poor copies with words that made no sense or just plain weren&apos;t words.  So I&apos;ve pieced together what I could find, discarded 95% of it, and used my own hearing to try and make sense of the whole shebang.  Even with that, there&apos;s still a sticky spot in the second verse, &apos;daiju&apos;, which I think might be a romanization of something, but nothing&apos;s come up even with the different variations I&apos;ve tried.  So unless someone finds me a kanji copy, we&apos;re stuck with an untranslated word. :P&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eh, whatever. They get paid for doing nothing.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They&apos;ll be all watching a movie, and they&apos;ll be all &apos;Hm, this movie needs an adjective to make the idiots happy.  How about.... *points to random page in dictionary* Viscous!&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And then the commercials&apos;ll be all &quot;THE MOST VISCOUS MOVIE THIS YEAR!  SEE WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING!  THIS MOVIE IS THE MOST VISCOUS EXPERIENCE YOU&apos;LL EVER HAVE!&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And it&apos;d be like the best selling movie ever.  Because 99% of people have no idea what the fuck it means but they&apos;d think it&apos;s some new word for &apos;great and not mindnumbingly boring&apos;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And the 1% that did see it would either be laughing their asses off or would just go see it to see what kind of idiot describes a movie as viscous.   <title>My favorite Bleach page so far</title>

It&apos;s a really good insight into a character that doesn&apos;t get enough attention imho, and almost made me cry the first time I read it. D:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name=&quot;cutid1&quot;&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kon (the guy holding the monologue) is an artificial soul, with no body of his own.  Normally he&apos;s kept in the stuffed lion, but now he&apos;s tending Ichigo&apos;s body while Ichigo in spirit form goes out to presumably kick bad guy ass.</description>

  <title>Because.</title>

  <description>Been trying a lot of RPGs lately in my quest to find a new one to eat my free time (you can only play Fuwa Fuwa Panic so much before making Sailor Scouts cry gets old).  So, in no particular order:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name=&quot;cutid1&quot;&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;7th Saga: I tried this one quite a while back, but remembered getting bored with it pretty quickly.  Mostly because I only seemed to be doing random encounters.  I&apos;m not even sure I made it to the first town or whatever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Arcana (Card Masters): I remembered playing this a long time ago and hating it.  Now I remember why.  tia has no love for first person limited perspective, and the battle system wasn&apos;t that great, either.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Arcus Spirit: I&apos;m not even sure why this is listed as an RPG.  It&apos;s more like a top-perspective action game.  Not my cup of tea, kthxbye.  Any game that kills me repeatedly in the first five minutes is not worth my time.  (And the continues sucked, too.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Brain Lord: Don&apos;t ask me what the title means, but this one is actually pretty cool.  It&apos;s not really more than a glorified dungeon crawl, but the dungeons are pretty challenging and full of yummy puzzles.  And orange balls that chase you.  Much hate for those balls.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Brandish: Ugh, ugh.  Like multiple death, any game where I spend more than five minutes trying to figure out what the hell I&apos;m looking at is not worth my time.  Worst.  Control.  System.  Ever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BoF2:  Fun game, but I&apos;m currently stuck in the underwater timed part.  Much hate for that.  *huggles the catgirl for comfort*&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Chrono Trigger: Love it, what can I say?  &amp;lt;3 my turn-based RPGs.  Just picked it up and beat it again fairly recently, I&apos;m going to try and get all the endings again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dragon View: Cheesy, and I&apos;m not too kicked up by the control system, but it might be pretty fun if I could stop dying. -_-&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Earthbound: I can&apos;t believe I played the WHOLE THING.  The control system was good, the plot, graphics and characters were just crap.  Proof that game designers need to lay off the drugs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Final Fantasy 4: A Final Fantasy I actually beat~ It&apos;s a lot less complicated plotwise and playwise, but still quite fun.  Poor Kain.  *gives him a hug*&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Final Fantasy 6: I suppose I&apos;ll eventually get off my rear and finish the last sidequests so I can go smack Kefka.  Or maybe I&apos;ll just play it over again.  Can&apos;t beat that plot with a stick. X3  Also, love for the female &quot;main character&quot; X3&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Illusion of Gaia: I think I&apos;m going to have to start this one over...I&apos;ve already missed so many Red Jewels it&apos;s ridiculous.  I&apos;m actually doing pretty well for an action RPG, and the leveling system isn&apos;t as bad as I thought it&apos;d be.  The plot&apos;s mostly okay, though there have just been some points where it&apos;s like &apos;We&apos;re going to be cheesy or obvious to advance to the next part&apos;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lufia 2: The plot&apos;s okay, but the dungeon crawls are starting to get a little tedious.  I can&apos;t remember whether I&apos;m going up or down in this lighthouse....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Magic Knights Rayearth: Followed the first season, no big twists, which was rather disappointing.  Battles were a little easy...then again, they do start with several hundred HP to begin with o_0  Pretty graphics, though.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Robotrek: This one was pretty fun/interesting, and the robot-customizing was pretty cool as well.  It&apos;s been so long, I need to go back and play it again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sailor Moon Another Story: The plotline was pretty intriguing, actually.  And who doesn&apos;t love playing with the eleven year old who controls death?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secret of Evermore: Okay, Square.  Continues.  Ever heard of them? -_-  This one is a lot like Secret of Mana in graphics and game layout (stupid menu!) and I think the first enemies are just a WEE bit too hard hitting. -_-&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secret of Mana: First game I&apos;ve actually gotten kicked out of town and beaten up by a kid NPC X3  But oh how I am hating that stupid ring menu.  No love for ring menu.  Also, sprite + bow = kills things liek woah.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Shadowrun: How the fuck does anyone get five minutes into this game without a FAQ?  I hate getting shot at on practically every screen and not being able to shoot back. -_-&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mario RPG: Peach kicks Goomba butt. X3  The control system and plot are all pretty fun, now if only I could pick it up and play it again... *probably needs a restart to remember everything*&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maybe I&apos;ll do my GB collection next.</description>

  <title>Talpa&apos;s campaign platform</title>

  <description>As official representative of the Talpa for President 2004 campaign, I thought I should say a little about his goals as President of America.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tired of the same old men running for president? Tired of our country being thrown into wars and being hated by every other country on the planet? Talpa promises a change to that. If elected president (and even if he isn&apos;t) he is going to take over the world, thus solving all those &quot;diplomatic&quot; issues. Dissenters will be terminated with great prejudice so we don&apos;t have to hear their whining about &quot;first amendment rights&quot; and all that. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Speaking of amendments, Talpa will do even better than President Bush in that matter. Talpa will put an end to discrimination by terminating all civil rights equally. He will also push for new laws rendering the entire constitution void, also eliminating the need for lawyers. Thought that mess of the election in 2000 was bad? It&apos;ll never happen again with Talpa at our helm! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The sagging economy getting to you? In a Talpa-run America, all humans will have their spirit energy harnessed to make legions of dark armies to loose upon the world. Everyone has a place. Just think, you could be making that army right now that will take over Paraguay! Everyone will be involved in global affairs. You can make a difference! And you can start by electing Talpa for President in the 2004 election. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Talpa For President. Hey, He&apos;s Better Than Bush, Right?</description>

The CHORUS is dressed in whites and grays, posing as statues in the background.  It is midafternoon.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[THEUSIAL enters.  He walks at a leisurely pace, wandering aimlessly around the stage for a bit before sitting down on a bench, humming idly to himself.  PENTITHIDES enters.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES: &lt;br /&gt;	My lord, my lord!  Why do you linger here, alone?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Is it not well and good for a man to linger,&lt;br /&gt;	with the sun and grass as his companions?&lt;br /&gt;	They do not tire of my ramblings,&lt;br /&gt;	nor whisper behind my back.&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	All who listen to Theusial&lt;br /&gt;	would do well to ignore his speech;&lt;br /&gt;	he has lost all reason&lt;br /&gt;	and can only spout nonsense.&lt;br /&gt;	He is only the first of the curse&apos;s victims.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Curse?  I see no curse.&lt;br /&gt;	Only a spot of clouds &lt;br /&gt;	marring a perfect azure sky.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	If you say so, my lord,&lt;br /&gt;	but I bring other conversation.&lt;br /&gt;	Your sister is married.&lt;br /&gt;	Will you not see her?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Married, you say?  What is that?&lt;br /&gt;	Some new fancy jewelry my sister partakes?&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Your sister has taken vows of matrimony&lt;br /&gt;	and pledged herself for life&lt;br /&gt;	to Cleutes, king of Sikinos,&lt;br /&gt;	the isle on which you stand.&lt;br /&gt;	Can you not show some congratulation&lt;br /&gt;	or, failing that, respect?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Oh, so she&apos;s been sold?&lt;br /&gt;	A pity, I would&apos;ve liked to bid.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Your sister approaches.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[PENTITHIDES exits.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	Behold, such a tragedy, &lt;br /&gt;	A fine young man, brave and earnest&lt;br /&gt;	reduced to the mannerisms of a child&lt;br /&gt;	without thought of tact or logic.&lt;br /&gt;	Yet he is only a victim.&lt;br /&gt;	Such is the effect of the curse,&lt;br /&gt;	placed upon tragic Hesione.&lt;br /&gt;	Alas, poor Hesione!&lt;br /&gt;	Born to a mortal woman&lt;br /&gt;	taken by Zeus in his eagerness,&lt;br /&gt;	the child Hesione,&lt;br /&gt;	of such beauty that could outshine the gods.&lt;br /&gt;	Alas, for the arrogant tongues of man!&lt;br /&gt;	Such words do not escape the gods,&lt;br /&gt;	and the jealous Hera, upon hearing them,&lt;br /&gt;	cried out in rage and bitterness,&lt;br /&gt;	placing a curse upon the maiden,&lt;br /&gt;	that he who should linger in her presence&lt;br /&gt;	shall suffer a slow loss of reason&lt;br /&gt;	til he be reduced to naught but mutterings and fancy.&lt;br /&gt;	Alas, poor Hesione!  Alas, poor Theusial!&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Alas, indeed!  The clouds are coming in.&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	He does not understand.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	What man truly understands anything?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[HESIONE enters.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	Ah, dear brother!  Pentithides informed me&lt;br /&gt;	you were dawdling among the shrubs.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	It is no better occupation, no worse habit.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	I grieve for your loss of reason, brother,&lt;br /&gt;	I truly do.  But today my sorrow is lessened;&lt;br /&gt;	For I have found love, and it has found me.&lt;br /&gt;	Brother, I am married.  Do I not have your blessing?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	You have indeed found love!&lt;br /&gt;	It is a yellow color and hangs around your neck&lt;br /&gt;	and lurks on your fingers.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	Brother, be not spiteful.&lt;br /&gt;	Do you hate me for marrying?&lt;br /&gt;	I shall never stop grieving for you, brother,&lt;br /&gt;	but I cannot bring back what is lost.&lt;br /&gt;	All I can do is deny my curse its power.&lt;br /&gt;	It has claimed one victim; it shall claim no more.&lt;br /&gt;	My husband comes; will you not meet him?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	I have no desire to.  He has a crooked nose, &lt;br /&gt;	and his eyes are brown, like the color of mud.&lt;br /&gt;	He offends my eyes by his expressions.&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	And you offend the eyes of all logical people.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Let them be offended.  Their egos bruise too readily.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	Brother!  Can you not do me this one favor?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	I shall not; I cannot linger.&lt;br /&gt;	The sun has gone missing, and I must retrieve him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[THEUSIAL exits.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	Alas, to be burdened with such a pitiable creature!&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	Some would say you are the pitiable one.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	My half-brother, born of mortal flesh only,&lt;br /&gt;	prey to human weakness.  Yet when he begged me, &lt;br /&gt;	I could not turn him away from my side.&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	Was it not you who begged him to stay?&lt;br /&gt;	Is it not him that paid the price for man&apos;s arrogance?&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	Enough of my maidenly prattling.  Cleutes approaches!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[Enter CLEUTES.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CLEUTES:&lt;br /&gt;	My love, this is where you have spirited off to.&lt;br /&gt;	Is your brother not around?&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	He has gone to frolic among the flowers.&lt;br /&gt;CLEUTES:&lt;br /&gt;	A pity.  Even if only by one parent,&lt;br /&gt;	you two are related, and he should have held favor&lt;br /&gt;	to be as enviable as you.  Shall we not let him play?&lt;br /&gt;	He would not understand my speech anyways.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	He would become bored quickly.  Indeed, such a fine man wasted!&lt;br /&gt;	But let us talk of more cheery things.&lt;br /&gt;	Is not the feast prepared?  Have the people brought such gifts&lt;br /&gt;	that befit their new queen?&lt;br /&gt;CLEUTES:&lt;br /&gt;	All is taken care of.  Have no fear.&lt;br /&gt;	I had planned this carefully from the moment I saw you.&lt;br /&gt;	I am not as careless as your brother &lt;br /&gt;	to be caught in such a curse.  Everything is planned;&lt;br /&gt;	from the feast and wedding night, to future years.&lt;br /&gt;	I even have names for our future sons.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	Shall the naming of daughters fall to me, then?&lt;br /&gt;CLEUTES:&lt;br /&gt;	Indeed.  But our firstborn must be male.&lt;br /&gt;	I desire an heir to my kingdom.&lt;br /&gt;HESIONE:&lt;br /&gt;	I shall make it so, my lord.&lt;br /&gt;	Let us away to the banquet!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[HESIONE and CLEUTES exit.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	The arrogance of man is always repaid by the gods.&lt;br /&gt;	These two who think they are happy&lt;br /&gt;	are no exception.  This is the beginning of tragedy.&lt;br /&gt;	Theusial, among his flowers and sun&lt;br /&gt;	is the only one to stay the same.&lt;br /&gt;	As rightly delivered, Cleutes falls prey&lt;br /&gt;	as any mortal man would.  His eyes betray him;&lt;br /&gt;	he sees dark specters in the shadows.  He mutters often.&lt;br /&gt;	As his delusions grow, his kingdom fails.&lt;br /&gt;	His enemies lurk on the shores, waiting for the ultimate weakness.&lt;br /&gt;	And Hesione, despairing Hesione, so certain of her planned future,&lt;br /&gt;	finds herself unable to bear a child.  Without a heir,&lt;br /&gt;	the fall of Sikinos looms near.&lt;br /&gt;	Woe to any mortal who thinks their place is among the gods.&lt;br /&gt;	They are always made humble.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[Enter PENTITHIDES.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Oh that I had died a hundred times over &lt;br /&gt;	before seeing this dreadful age! My lord&apos;s kingdom is flailing;&lt;br /&gt;	as certainly as my lord flails among the shadows cast over him.&lt;br /&gt;	Mercy be upon us and our kingdom!  Shall not the gods&lt;br /&gt;	pity us and show again their smiling faces towards us?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[Enter THEUSIAL.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	God?  What is that, but a canine facing backwards?&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	He speaks blasphemy.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	I speak linguistics.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	For what purpose have you come here?&lt;br /&gt;	Come to mock the ill shadows your sister has brought upon us?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Ill shadows can only be cast from ill light.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Despite your madness, there is a sting to your words.&lt;br /&gt;	Be you a sophist?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Me, a sophist?  One of such godless fools?&lt;br /&gt;	I shall take it into consideration.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	You mock me!&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	Only if it is deserved.&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	Such deep sarcasm can only come from the minds&lt;br /&gt;	of those truly mad, or those truly genius.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	A thin line between the two!&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Speak no more of your hurtful nonsense.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHEDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Begone from my sight, you insipid fool!&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	And so I shall. She has gotten her deserved end.&lt;br /&gt;	Speak plainly, what news do you bring?&lt;br /&gt;CHRUSTAE:&lt;br /&gt;	It is of my lord Cleutes.  He is dead!&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS:&lt;br /&gt;	And so the arrogance of man is shown its folly.&lt;br /&gt;	The gods have been avenged.  &lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	What, dead?  How?&lt;br /&gt;CHRUSTAE:&lt;br /&gt;	We tried to impede him, but in his madness&lt;br /&gt;	he gained the strength of a thousand.  Always talking of voices,&lt;br /&gt;	he began grappling with an invisible foe.  With this illusion he fought,&lt;br /&gt;	all the way to the cliff&apos;s edge, tripped, and fell.&lt;br /&gt;	Surely the waters of the sea have swallowed all trace of him.&lt;br /&gt;	And now, with the queen also recently expired,&lt;br /&gt;	the royal family is gone.  There is no hope.&lt;br /&gt;	Surely the island will be overrun by tomorrow&apos;s light!&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Woman, keep your head.  I have an order.&lt;br /&gt;CHRUSTAE:&lt;br /&gt;	My lord?&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES:&lt;br /&gt;	Bring me logs for a fire, large enough to light up a night sky.&lt;br /&gt;CHRUSTAE: &lt;br /&gt;	If you request it, so it shall be done.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[CHRUSTAE exits.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CHORUS: [produces several logs and brings them to the front]&lt;br /&gt;	All too late Pentithides has realized his own folly,&lt;br /&gt;	his mortal foolishness and his blindness to it.&lt;br /&gt;	He rectifies his mistake now.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES: [alights the bonfire]&lt;br /&gt;	Have you any last words, Theusial?  Any last mockery&lt;br /&gt;	for my foolishness?  No last probing jaunt?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	I shall continue to watch the clouds. Such light and innocent things, &lt;br /&gt;	they are untouched by man&apos;s petty troubles.&lt;br /&gt;PENTITHIDES: &lt;br /&gt;	I envy you and your simplicity.&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	What truly is simple?  Even white clouds can bring rain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[PENTITHIDES steps into the fire.  CHRUSTAE re-enters.]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CHRUSTAE: &lt;br /&gt;	My lord, Pentithides?  Where have you gone?&lt;br /&gt;	Were you not here a mere moment ago?&lt;br /&gt;	Lord Theusial, whereforth has he gone?&lt;br /&gt;THEUSIAL:&lt;br /&gt;	He has built a fire, but left it unattended.&lt;br /&gt;	I am watching over it for him.  It shall die down soon, I think.&lt;br /&gt;CHRUSTAE:&lt;br /&gt;	Oh, would that I had died before seeing this terrible day!&lt;br /&gt;	First our king, then our queen, and now even Lord Pentithides!&lt;br /&gt;	There is no hope for us.   <title>Crossed Paths, part one</title>

  <description>A bit of posing with two of my characters, Stripe and Jaiorin, and how they first met.  I attempted to describe them and what&apos;s going on hopefully enough so that you don&apos;t have to be familiar with the characters.  Enjoy the angst and near-fatal maiming. ^__^&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name=&quot;cutid1&quot;&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;***&lt;br /&gt;Even at twilight, the woods were usually alive with the sounds of birds and insects and small forest creatures moving about.  Tonight, however, the woods were silent as a tomb, many of the creatures fleeing to a different locale or hiding in their dens from the unnatural thing that had entered their forest that night.  A troll, and the one pursuing him.&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Tell me what you know!&quot; the pursuer demanded, curved sword at the ready as he stared down at the troll, cutting off its escape once again.  The man was rather young, not so much as a young adult anymore, but not old enough to be considered middle aged yet.  His forest-green eyes fixed on the enemy with a frightening intensity.  Moonlight filtered down through the trees, highlighting the darker stripes in his hair and the tigerlike stripes on his face, the inspiration for the name the man had given himself.  His clothing was sliced in several spots, the gaps revealing slices on his skin that bled darkened spots on his clothes.  One bad rip in particular crossed the width of his stomach, bleeding heavily, the wound raw and ripped underneath, as if inflicted by a hook or claw.  The troll, however, bore injuries of equal seriousness.  It was down to one arm, the wound seared by flame so that it couldn&apos;t regenerate.  It also sported a burn wound on its side.  However, it was gaining power as midnight approached, and this fact boosted the troll&apos;s confidence.&lt;br /&gt;&quot;As if I shall ever tell a Unitarian like you anything,&quot; it sneered.  &lt;br /&gt;The man was breathing heavily from exertion and wounds.  He too knew that the troll was gaining power.  Plus, he was tiring from the long battle and losing blood.  He needed to end this soon, before he lost his strength...if he passed out here he was as good as dead. &lt;br /&gt;The troll charged him, lashing out with his hook.  The man jumped up, using a tree branch to swing himself behind the troll.  As he did, he delivered a hard kick, sending the troll staggering forward.  He did not press the advantage, but rather dropped to the ground in a crouch a safe distance away.&lt;br /&gt;Trolls were known for their cunning.  However, if you wanted to be a Patroller and survive, you had to be even more cunning.  His thoughts were interrupted as he suddenly let out a choked cry, clutching at his stomach wound and dropping to one knee.&lt;br /&gt;Unlike the man, the troll was confident in its abilities and pressed the advantage, not realizing he had fallen for a trap he had unconsciously tried only moments before.  The man grabbed it by the arm, flipping it onto its back.  Without a pause, he brought a knee down on its stomach, hard, pulling his sword up through its arm, starting at the burn mark and pausing just beside the neck.  &lt;br /&gt;&quot;This is your last chance.  Answer me!  WHERE IS SHE?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;The troll sneered again, grabbing at the man&apos;s stomach injury.  The man let out a cry of pain, but even that did not stop him as he finished his sword&apos;s arc, cleanly slicing off the troll&apos;s head and half its arm.  Its face was a mask of classic surprise as its hand released the man&apos;s abdomen.  &lt;br /&gt;The man panted for breath, using his sword to lever himself to a standing position.  Cleaning the blood off by using the troll&apos;s corpse as a wipe, he examined his abdomen.  In the increasing dark, all he could tell was that it was still bleeding and it hurt. He would probably need a healer; fortunately, he had noticed a small town not too far ahead.  He shed the tattered remains of his shirt, using it as a sloppy makeshift bandage.  The shirt gone, a crosscrossing of scars could be seen on his torso and arms.  He pushed himself forward toward hope, toward the town, where a few dots of lamplight could be seen against the darkening woods.&lt;br /&gt;All traces of sunlight had faded from the skies and the stars were showing their faces as the injured man finally made it into the town.  He managed a weak smile as he pushed his tired body toward the nearest house.  Finally.  Surely someone here would be able to send for the healer, even at this time of night.   He leaned against the doorframe as he knocked wearily on the door.&lt;br /&gt;It opened, and a man looked out.  &quot;Hello,&quot; the injured man managed, &quot;can you send for a he-&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Yah!  Get away!&quot; the man exclaimed as he slammed the door shut.  The injured one blinked in stunned confusion.  He knocked again on the door.  &quot;Sir?  Please, lend me aid.  Would you turn away an injured man on your doorstep?&quot;  There was no response inside the house.  ~What in the world is his problem?~ &lt;br /&gt;The man managed to drag himself to the next door and knocked.  A woman opened the door this time, took one look at him, and screamed, slamming the door in the manner of the first.  The injured man thought he heard a mutter of &quot;foreigner&quot; from inside the house.  &lt;br /&gt;The third house garnered the same reaction, as did the fourth, and the fifth.  His hope started to fade.  Had he come this far and survived all those previous times only to die at the hands of his fellow Unitarians?  He dragged himself to one final door, fighting black spots in his vision and the inertia of his own limbs, barely managing a knock.  He felt himself slipping.  Suddenly he didn&apos;t care.  Let death come.  He was tired of always fighting, of always skirting death...of being alone.  ~At least, if I die, let me be with my sister if my fears are true...~&lt;br /&gt;The young woman who opened the door of the last house let out a gasp of surprise as a man fell into her arms.  Even from the lamplight further inside the house, she could see the man&apos;s bloodstained clothing and multiple wounds.  &lt;br /&gt;&quot;Mom,&quot; she called, her voice carrying a tone of urgency, but not panic.  &quot;Mom!&quot;&lt;br /&gt;An older woman hurried to the doorstep.  She was of average height, with smooth, darkened skin and kind brown eyes.  Her hair was tied back in a ponytail.  &quot;What is it, Jaiorin?  Oh!&quot; she gasped as she saw the unconscious man.  &quot;Quickly, bring him inside.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;The younger woman called Jaiorin nodded.  She was exceptionally tall, and built up from a lifetime of farming.  Her skin was dark, though not as dark as her mother&apos;s, and her brown hair was pulled back in a short braid.  Effortlessly, she scooped the man up, following her mother.  The older woman, named Katori but often referred to as &quot;Mom&quot; or &quot;Mother&quot; opened up the small guest room, motioning her eldest daughter to lay the man down on the bed.  Casting an experienced eye over the stranger&apos;s torso, she cast the bloodied remains of the shirt aside and examined the rip in the man&apos;s stomach.  &quot;Jaiorin, fetch me some numboil and rho, oh, and some of that tnolois mix, it works wonders for tears in the flesh like this.  And tell Hoti to boil some water for willow tea.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;Jaiorin was out and back in within a minute, carrying the requested medicines and also some bandages.  &quot;The willow&apos;s brewing, I&apos;ll bring it in.  I also brought some of that rikomdir brew, I thought it might be useful.  How bad is it?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;Katori chewed her lip.  Most of her healing experience came from treating farm-related injuries and typical wounds garnered by active children.  &quot;Not great.  But maybe not bad, either.  The cut&apos;s wide, but not too deep.  He&apos;s mostly just lost a lot of blood, it seems.  Rikomdir was probably a good choice, let&apos;s start with that.&quot; &lt;br /&gt;Jaiorin handed her the bottle and Katori poured some of the thin red liquid onto her fingers, letting it slowly pour into the wound.  Though still unconscious, the man&apos;s face twisted in pain as the medicine seeped into his wound, but his pale cheeks started to regain a bit of color.  Jaiorin opened a wide jar, dabbing a cloth into the oily substance inside.  She then began to gently spread the numboil on the wound in an attempt to dull the pain for the stranger.&lt;br /&gt;Katori paused in draining the bottle of rikomdir and looked back to the stranger&apos;s face.  Satisfied, she began treating the wound with rho.  &quot;Jaiorin, I&apos;ll hold the tears together, put some tnolois on it.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;The girl nodded, and Katori worked from the inside out, holding each layer of flesh together as Jaiorin smeared the light blue thick salve on each layer, starting the mending process.  The oil in the room&apos;s lamp had gotten considerably lower by the time they finished the treatment.  &quot;Phew!  That seemed to be the big injury, the rest are just cuts.  I think he&apos;ll be all right now.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;As if he had deliberately timed it, Hoti stepped into the room at that moment.  &quot;So, has our mysterious guest woken up?  Or is my special brand of tea, with willow, fennel, and three different fruit flavors going to waste?&quot;  He put down the tray he was holding on a nearby table, and offered a bowl of water and a pair of hand towels for the two women to wash their hands with. &lt;br /&gt;Katori accepted gratefully, scrubbing the mixture of medicine and blood off her hands.  &quot;That&apos;s what I don&apos;t like about that rikomdir; my hands will be fire red for three days.  Oh well, in the long run it&apos;s worth it.  And Hoti, even if he doesn&apos;t wake up, I&apos;m about to take some of your tea for myself.  I&apos;m ready to turn in for the night.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;Jaiorin waved a hand.  &quot;You go ahead, Mom, I&apos;ll watch over him for a little while to see if he wakes up.  I&apos;m going to put one more layer of numboil on the wound, anyway.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;Hoti poured his mother a cup of the tea and Katori sipped at is as she got up.  &quot;Whoo, I feel a bit sleepy already.  All right, good night, children.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Night, mom,&quot; Jaiorin called as Hoti guided Katori out of the room.  Jaiorin finished her application of the numboil and pulled out a bandage.  Lifting the man&apos;s torso with one supporting arm, she began to wrap the bandage around his wound.&lt;br /&gt;The man let out a soft groan as his eyes slowly opened.  His head lolled to the side, observing the younger woman.  &lt;br /&gt;The first thing he noticed was the girl&apos;s brown eyes.  For a moment, he thought he was looking at his sister.  ~Teslia?  Am I dead after all?~  He forced his protesting eyes to focus and realized with a pang of disappointment that this was another woman altogether who only had brown eyes in common with his lost sibling.&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Where...&quot; he managed to get out.&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Shh, shh,&quot; she said soothingly.  Her voice was gentle, and rather low-pitched for a girl.  &quot;You&apos;re safe, that&apos;s all that matters.  How do you feel?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;He considered this question.  His limbs and torso stung with minor cuts all over, but his stomach... &quot;Numb,&quot; he managed.  &quot;I&apos;m not dead, am I?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;I imagine it&apos;d be rather difficult to talk if you were a corpse, hmm?&quot; Jaiorin said dryly as she tied the bandage off, tightening it.  The man drew in a swift breath as a spike of pain drove across his stomach.  &quot;Here, let me get you some tea. It&apos;s got willow and fennel in it.  Or would you rather eat first?  Your stomach seems to have survived whatever little adventure you had before here.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Tea is fine, thank you,&quot; he managed as Jaiorin laid him back on the bed and poured a cup.  She returned, propping him up against her own body and bringing the cup up to his lips.  &quot;By the way, hi, my name is Jaiorin Tero.  Call me Jaiorin,&quot; she said.  &quot;I don&apos;t think we&apos;ve met.  You are?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;He paused for a long moment between sips, already feeling the fennel starting to take effect.  &quot;Stripe,&quot; he pushed past his lips.  &quot;Stripe Nikado.  You can address me by whichever you prefer.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Stripe, huh?&quot; Jaiorin said with an amused smile, having noticed his streaked hair and face markings.  &quot;Well, you just lay back and let yourself heal.  You&apos;re going to be all right, you just need some rest.  And a lot of willow,&quot; she added as she reclined him back onto the bed.&lt;br /&gt;Stripe tried to say something else, but his lips didn&apos;t want to move any more.  His limbs had stopped their stinging and his eyelids felt unbearably heavy.  The last thing he remembered before drifting off was a pair of warm brown eyes looking down at him.&lt;br /&gt;For the first time in many years, Stripe Nikado slept deeply, feeling completely safe.</description>

  <description>Dear majority of Pit of Voles writers:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* As someone who is short, fat, and DAMN proud, I am not going to be impressed by your physically impossible bullshit about how tall and thin you are.  Don&apos;t expect me to believe you have a DD cup, either; I do and it&apos;s nothing to brag about, just something that&apos;s gonna knock your back out of whack and be at your knees when you&apos;re sixty.  So if you must include all your personal data in yuor profile or fics, cut the BS.  &lt;br /&gt;* I am ADHD and have been treated for depression and bipolar disorder.  Yet I still somehow can spellcheck and proofread.  Don&apos;t even pull this card with me, it won&apos;t work.&lt;br /&gt;* I&apos;m bisexual and seeing another woman.  It&apos;s not particularly &quot;cool&quot; to be a lesbian; in fact with the conservative Christian slant currently in the national government, it&apos;s quite the pain in the ass.  And ten bucks says if I were to hit on you, you&apos;d probably think it was all icky.  Oh, and by the way, pull the homophobe card on me because I don&apos;t like your OOC and idiotic yaoi pairing, and I will turn it right back on you.  Go back to your bishounen-induced brain fog.&lt;br /&gt;* I watched a series four times before I wrote fanfiction for it.  If you can&apos;t be bothered to watch it once, expect that I will not only point out all the canon points you missed, but will secretly be laughing at you in front of my computer desk.&lt;br /&gt;* The shortest amount of time I wrote a fanfiction in is one week.  If you spend an hour on your &quot;masterpiece&quot;, don&apos;t expect me to treat it as any less crappy.&lt;br /&gt;* Just because your group of close friends who are too nice to tell you any better like the story in which you unceremoniously screw Orlando Bloom doesn&apos;t mean the rest of the world will care.  Get used to it.&lt;br /&gt;* Sure, your story&apos;s unique, just like everyone else&apos;s.  Before claiming a plot is &quot;different&quot;, try checking the fandom you&apos;re writing for to make sure it actually IS.  Hint: You falling from the sky/getting sucked into your TV/getting sucked into the book...it&apos;s been done.  So has practically any relation to the main characters.&lt;br /&gt;* If you&apos;re claiming your story is not a Mary Sue, chances are not only is it a very typical Mary Sue, but you know enough about them to know better.  Try again.&lt;br /&gt;* &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.spellcheck.net&quot;&gt;http://www.spellcheck.net&lt;/a&gt; , &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.iespell.com&quot;&gt;http://www.iespell.com&lt;/a&gt; .  There are no excuses anymore other than laziness.&lt;br /&gt;* For those that put Read and Review or any variation in your description/story, lemme drop you a hint: You&apos;re writing for the wrong reasons.  There&apos;s plenty of things that will give you the ego-flattering and praise you&apos;re whoring after without having to clog an already overburdened server with crappy fics.&lt;br /&gt;* There&apos;s a difference between flaming and constructive criticism.  If you can&apos;t tell the difference, don&apos;t even bother writing.&lt;br /&gt;* I don&apos;t arbitrarily flame random fics of an author who gave me a less than glowing review.  I expect the same courtesy to be reciprocated.&lt;br /&gt;* And finally, let me remind you of something: If it&apos;s out in public (i.e., the web) chances are that even if it IS halfway decent, it&apos;s going to be mocked and ripped to shreds terribly.  Nothing is so sacred that it can&apos;t be mocked, and your fanfic is certainly not sacred at all, except to you.  If your ego can&apos;t take the heat, do yourself a favor and just stop writing NOW.   <title>Icon set number two...</title>

  <description>Song: &quot;Dizzy&quot; by the Goo Goo Dolls (Dizzy Up The Girl, track 1)&lt;br /&gt;Anime: Sailor Moon&lt;br /&gt;Number of icons: 32&lt;br /&gt;Format: 22 JPEG, 10 gif (transparency and animation for the last two&lt;br /&gt;Tools: Adobe Imageready, Paint&lt;br /&gt;Most asked question of previewers: &quot;Is it readable?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;Sources: When I started, I had a little over 250 pictures in my SM folder.  When I finished, I had close to 500.  Most of the ones I actually used were scans or screenshots found through Google (you have no idea what a pain it is to find decent shots of the villains) or cels found on Yahoo Japan, but one site that I used four from (9, 19, 30, 32) that I took note of was &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.animemanga.net/naked/main.html&quot;&gt;NAKED&lt;/a&gt;.  *places much love on site and webmaster for providing shots other than pretty portraits of the Senshi*  3 was a scan of mine from SMILE&apos;s version of the manga...I was going to use another shot of Helios, but never managed to work it in. ;_;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Notes: I didn&apos;t want to use another &apos;Dolls song, especially after the RW/Hate This Place set.  Actually, I was debating doing another set at all, seeing as only my Ronin collection even broke 500 and I&apos;d had to scan so much to make that set.  But while flipping through lyrics, the line about &apos;falls from the sky like a star&apos; made a connection with Sailor Moon in my brain, and, well, I was doomed.&lt;br /&gt;This set is rather villain-intensive...I have an unprofessed love for most of the SM villains, Black Lady and Mistress 9 included.  Hotaru, being my favorite, and having a lot of kickass pics, evil and good, ended up popping in repeatedly (Six times).  &lt;br /&gt;2 is the comedic piece of this set.  Cels rule--you can find actual expressions, not everyone smiling all the time.&lt;br /&gt;I had to re-do 6 over again after this post was first done.  I was going to let a mistake in the lyrics (laughter instead of laugh...I don&apos;t know why) more or less slide, but &apos;disease&apos; without an &apos;i&apos; was just too damn embarrassing. &amp;gt;_&amp;lt;;&lt;br /&gt;Color Burn rules.&lt;br /&gt;I apologize to all the chatgoers and anyone else who had to hear me gush repeatedly about how hot Diamond, Helios, and Dr. Tomoe all are.  What is it with Takeuchi-sensei and really hot white-haired guys? o.O&lt;br /&gt;I did the background for 16.  Woot.&lt;br /&gt;29 has a neat effect--the text is transparent.  I&apos;d been wanting to do one like that from the beginning of the set.  The text should show up fine on both light and dark backgrounds.&lt;br /&gt;The movie effect on 31 was done all in paint and put together in Imageready.  Fear my lack of filters and animation programs.  And wow, I just realize I put the wrong lyrics on it, again.  Guess I shouldn&apos;t work on these things when my hands aren&apos;t working and apparently neither is my brain.  But I dun wanna fix it...it looks nice with those lyrics.  (And besides, I&apos;d have to make each frame all over again. x_X)&lt;br /&gt;32 was also animated frame by frame.  WHAT a pain in the gluteus maximus. Seven more (namely the Yuli and Luna ones, and the Ronin of Ice) were from scans I had already done. The rest were from artbook pics, screenshots, and various doujinshi scans found online.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Notes: Okay, first off, this set has way too much Rowen in it. -_- Damn him for being in every pic I wanted to use!  I made an effort to try and use some less-loved characters, like Kento and Yuli.  I think I got every main character (even Talpa, the Ancient, and White Blaze!), and even some non-common ones, like Luna, Suzunagi, and Mukara and Naria from the OAVs, and even Shikaisen and the Ronin/Trooper of Ice from the drama CD &lt;i&gt;Suiko Den&lt;/i&gt;.  This was a great opportunity to get comfortable with some of the effects and filters for Imageready; I still worry a bit some of these are too plain. v_v&lt;br /&gt;For 17 and 22, I was shooting for a &apos;subtitle&apos; effect, using some Gaiden screenshots from my imouto-chan &lt;span class=&apos;ljuser  ljuser-name_artemisdensetsu&apos; lj:user=&apos;artemisdensetsu&apos; style=&apos;white-space: nowrap; text-decoration: line-through;&apos;&gt;&lt;a href=&apos;http://artemisdensetsu.livejournal.com/profile&apos;&gt;&lt;img src=&apos;http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif&apos; alt=&apos;[info]&apos; width=&apos;17&apos; height=&apos;17&apos; style=&apos;vertical-align: bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;&apos; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a href=&apos;http://artemisdensetsu.livejournal.com/&apos;&gt;&lt;b&gt;artemisdensetsu&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt; as reference.&lt;br /&gt;5 and 14 are hilarious. XD&lt;br /&gt;I can not draw a straight line in Imageready to save my life.  So pretty much all the frames and straight lines were done in Paint.&lt;br /&gt;10 and 15 are the &quot;YAOI TIME XD&quot; icons.
